SENATOR ERNST HOLDS LEWIS & CLARK MEETING

Senator Ernst spent over an hour visiting with members in Sibley on August 22 about the progress Lewis & Clark is making, as well as the challenges being faced.  Officials attended from Sibley, Sheldon, Sioux Center, Hull and Luverne, as well as Lewis & Clark staff.  Project supporters urged Ernst to ensure in the proposed infrastructure bill that a a high priority is given to completing projects where the federal government has already made a commitment.  She readily agreed and said she she and her staff would pursue efforts to make it happen.  A wide variety of other issues were also discussed.  Ernst reiterated her strong support for the project and highlighted its importance to economic development in northwest Iowa.
