Raw Water Pipeline

ImageThe raw water pipeline (RWP) is the term used to describe the pipe that will be used to transmit the untreated water from the well field to the water treatment plant, which will be located a few miles north of Vermillion, SD. This section of the pipeline will be primarily 54", which is the largest diameter that will be used in the System.

The close to nine miles of RWP was divided into two segments. Construction on the first segment, a $1.85 million project awarded to Winter Brothers Underground, began in June 2004. An $8.9 million contract for the second segment was awarded in August 2004 to High Country Pipeline. The RWP was substantially completed in February 2006. Another close to six miles of RWP will be constructed in the future to connect with additional wells.

For more information on the RWP, see the Final Engineering Report under the Technical Information link.
